Update on next week’s General Membership meeting (5/17 @ 7 pm in Band Room):

by - 09 May 2012 in Uncategorized

After a close reading of the CKBB bylaws, it appears the board did not adhere to its rules, and will adjust the meeting agenda to follow the stated procedures: a full slate of candidates for officer positions and committee chair positions will be presented at the 5/17 meeting, as developed by the nominating committee. To this, any nominees from the floor (as well as those nominations from the April meeting) will be added, and voted on in the election to be held at the next meeting on June 14 or 21, TBA.
The main topics for discussion at the May meeting will be the Spokane/Silverwood trip on 5/19, June picnic, and fall marching plans.

Scholarship Opportunity

The following scholarship opportunity is being offered to students outside of Pierce county due to the fact that there were no applications submitted. Details are in the attachment.

The Brian Redman Memorial Scholarship’s purpose is to assist in promoting and enhancing the development of young musicians in the Pierce County community. Brian’s passion for music was pure and his relentless efforts to pursue his musical dreams helped shape his community, friends, and colleagues. Money will be allocated to the non-profit organization of your choosing. The creation of this memorial fund is an attempt to memorialize Brian’s passion and efforts and recognize those who will continue to assist in the development and enhancement of music in our community. We encourage ANY high school student (Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors) to apply for this scholarship to be used while in high school.
